Summary/Abstract
The article examines the reemigration of Czechs from Yugoslavia to Czechoslovakia after World War II as presented in articles from the compatriot journal Jednota („Unity“). The analysis is based on content analysis of issues from 1946–1950, a period during which targeted reemigration of Czechs from Yugoslavia to their homeland was organized. Relevant articles were identified and categorized to answer the research question. The article explores migration and re-emigration, the concept of “foreigners and returnees,” and provides an in-depth analysis of national minorities and the former Yugoslav territory. These themes are further discussed in relation to Jednota, a journalistic effort that contributed to the preservation and promotion of language and culture within the Czech minority.
